Ski Sugar Bowl benefit for Tahoe Women's Service
Tahoe Women's Services invites all skiers and snowboarders to ski Sugarbowl Ski Resort for $25 on Saturday, Dec. 13. With 1,000 tickets available and 100 percent of proceeds to benefit the only agency providing support for domestic violence and sexual assault programs in the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee region. Tickets must be purchased in advance online or by phone, with pick-up the day of the event at Sugarbowl's will call window. or

Bijou Skate Park |
| New Skate Park is scheduled to open on Sept. 20. The new location is at the Bijou Park. Right now vollunteers are contributing their valuable time to make this happen! Vollunteering contractors and workers alike are pushing to get the new skatepark open before the snow falls. This will be an outstanding park for all the local skaters to enjoy for years to come. The new skatepark is located across from the Community College on Al Tahoe Blvd. Those who want to help with the effort are incouraged to contact the Recreation Center. Laborers are always needed as well as lots and lots of concrete! |

Caples Lake Fish Rescue |
 Ca. Dept. of Fish and Game employees and volunteers working at Caples Lake have rescued thousands of fish. After two nights of electrofishing, approximately 6,000 fish were captured and transferred to two nearby lakes. One more night of electrofishing is scheduled. View Story... |
